IPCA / EXCHANGE REFERENCE

A generous exchange, with clear boundaries

Make space for another kitchen's context without losing the purpose of the conversation.

01

Open with your working context

State your actual role, the environment you work in and the question you hope to explore. Familiar professional titles can describe different responsibilities in different kitchens. An honest introduction helps people understand the perspective you bring without implying equivalent standing or recognition.

02

Ask for a perspective, not a verdict

Invite others to explain the choices behind their own work. Distinguish a personal observation from a complete technical explanation. A professional exchange can widen your understanding without establishing that a method is appropriate for every setting or replacing an approved reference.

03

Keep the contribution attributable

Name the source and collaborators. Ask before circulating another person's image, recipe, notes or account. A private discussion does not automatically authorise publication, translation or promotion. Keep the agreed credit and scope with the material rather than relying on an informal recollection.

04

End with a useful next question

Record what was clarified, what remains open and which responsible source should be consulted next. Do not convert a conversation into a promise of certification, partnership, employment or an invitation that has not been agreed. Ask the operator to confirm any proposed next activity.
